Cleveland Public Square presents Prismatica

Public Square presents Prismatica, an international, interactive lighting exhibit where visitors can literally play with light by interacting with life-size prisms. Prismatica was created by Raw Design of Toronto.

As visitors wander among and manipulate the prisms, they will enjoy an infinite interplay of lights and colorful reflections. As the prisms rotate, a variable-intensity soundtrack comprised of bell sounds will play.

Prismatica is comprised of 25 pivoting prisms, each more than six feet tall, made of panels laminated with a diachronic film that transmits and reflects every color in the visible spectrum, varying with the position of the light source and the observer. The prisms are mounted on bases containing projectors.

Prismatica was first presented as part of the 5th edition of Luminothérapie, in 2014-2015, at the Place des Festivals in the Quartier des Spectacles in Montreal. After its initial appearance in Montreal, the artwork has made appearances in France, England, and Chicago.
